Ghar On The Go ("we", "us", "our") operates short-term rental properties in Pakistan and provides property management services to property owners. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By making a booking, submitting an enquiry, or using our website at https://gharonthego.com, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
From Guests
When you book or enquire about a stay, we collect:
- Full name — to identify your booking and communicate with you
- Phone number and email address — for booking confirmation and guest support
- Check-in and check-out dates and number of guests
- CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card) or passport details — see Section 2 below for why this is required
- Payment information — processed securely via Airbnb or bank transfer; we do not store card details
From Property Owners
If you partner with us for property management, we collect:
- Full name, CNIC details, and contact information
- Property address and ownership documents
- Bank account details for monthly revenue transfers
From Website Visitors
- Usage data collected via Google Analytics (anonymised — no personally identifiable information)
- Information you voluntarily submit through our contact form
2. Identity Verification — CNIC and Passport
Under Pakistani law, all short-term rental hosts are legally required to verify the identity of guests before or upon check-in. This requirement applies to all stays regardless of duration and is enforced by local authorities.
Pakistani nationals are required to provide their CNIC number and a copy or photograph of their CNIC card. Foreign nationals are required to provide their passport number and a copy or photograph of the relevant passport page.
We collect this information solely to comply with this legal obligation. We do not use identity documents for any marketing purpose, and we do not sell or share them with third parties outside of what is required by law. Identity document records are stored securely and retained only for as long as legally required.
If you are unwilling to provide identity verification, we are unable to confirm your booking. This is not our preference — it is a legal requirement we cannot waive.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To confirm, manage, and support your booking
- To comply with Pakistani short-term rental regulations (identity verification)
- To communicate with you about your stay before, during, and after check-in
- To process payments and issue receipts
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our website or WhatsApp
- To improve our services based on anonymised usage data
We do not use your personal information for unsolicited marketing without your consent.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Guest records including identity documents are stored in secure, access-controlled systems. Only authorised team members who need the information to manage your booking have access to it.
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure — we take reasonable precautions but cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:
- Legal compliance — if required by Pakistani law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority
- Booking platforms — if your booking was made via Airbnb, that platform's privacy policy also applies to information held by them
- Property owners — in our management arrangements, the property owner (who is added as a co-host to our listing) may see your name and booking dates via Airbnb. Identity documents are not shared with property owners.
6. Data Retention
Booking records and identity verification documents are retained for a minimum of one year following your stay, as may be required by Pakistani regulations. After that period, records are securely deleted unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
Website enquiry data (contact form submissions) is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted unless a business relationship has been established.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal retention obligations
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent (this does not affect legally required processing)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at gharonthego@gmail.com.
8. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses anonymised data and does not identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
